Moremi Game Reserve
Within the Okavango Delta region lies the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, which is deservedly rated as offering some of Africa’s finest and most exciting game viewing.
The Reserve covers some 3000 sq km and is home to a vast diversity of natural habitats which in turn play host to a wide variety of wildlife including abundant herds of elephant, lechwe, wildebeest and impala. There are also large numbers of giraffe, tsessebe, waterbuck, as well as the predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and the endangered wild dog (or painted wolf).
The rich mosaic of different ecosystems in the Moremi Game Reserve can be explored by 4x4 vehicle and boat: the patchwork of lagoons, shallow flooded pans, plains and forests all make this one of the most beautiful areas of Botswana. The birding is also spectacular here, especially during the spring and summer months when the migrant flocks come here to breed.
