The Green Desert Expedition

This 6 night safari takes the time to explore the stunning contrasts of two habitat types: the petrified river valley of Deception Valley in the Kalahari Desert, and the fertile green islands of the Okavango Delta and its crystal-clear waterways. 

It takes place during the Kalahari's most productive season, when it receives low rains and wildlife migrates in large numbers into the desert valleys. This precious water creates a short yet incredibly prolific period with concentrations of desert species and their young in the ancient river valleys of Deception Valley.

Day 1 - Fly from London Heathrow
Day 2 - Arrive Johannesburg & fly to Maun - drive to Deception Valley Lodge - 1 night
Day 3 - Drive to Central Kalahari - Deception Valley Adventurer Camp - 3 nights
Day 4 & 5 - Two full days exploring Deception Valley, Letiahau Valley & Pipers Pan
Day 6 - Drive to Maun - light aircraft to Okavango Delta - Xigera Camp - 2 nights
Day 7 - One full day activities by mokoro, motorboat and on foot
Day 8 - Light aircraft to Maun - fly to London via Johannesburg
Day 9 - Arrive London Heathrow
