Lake Nasser Cruises
The landscape around Lake Nasser is dominated by the contrasting smooth brown desert and the calm green-blue water of the lake, an austerely beautiful region known to the ancient Egyptians as Nubia.
As the world’s largest artificial lake measuring 5250 sq kms, it is home to minimal human settlement owing to the fluctuating water levels (except a few thousand fishermen who make their living on the life-giving waters), instead playing host to a host of migrating birds, gazelle and fox, with enormous Nile perch, crocodiles and monitor lizards living in the lake itself.
A cruise between Abu Simbel and Aswan (or vice versa) will give you the chance to explore the treasures of ancient Nubia, the temples, tombs and forts dating back to the time of the Pharaohs, Greeks and Romans.
Our recommended cruise boats on Lake Nasser are:
M.S. Kasr Ibrim
M.S. Eugenie
