Ifaty

Ifaty is a small fishing village on Madagascar’s south eastern coast, about 1½ hours north of Tulear, reached by a small road in rather poor condition. There are 300 days of sunshine each year, it offers a beautiful coastline with lovely sandy beaches and although there are now a number of hotels offering activities such as snorkelling, diving and fishing, the local Vezo (fishing people) still live a traditional lifestyle.
