Home to a plethora of species of flora and fauna, Yala National Park is a fascinating place to visit for those with an interest in wildlife.
Covering an area of over 125,000 hectares, this former hunting reserve is now dedicated to conserving this beautiful forest habitat for its inhabitants which include amongst others, elephant, leopard, sloth bear, sambar deer, spotted deer buffalo, monkeys, crocodiles, porcupines and over 130 species of birds, many of which migrate south from the harsh northern winters.
