Wahiba Sands
A sight not to be missed is the great Wahiba Sands, the orange and amber sea of rolling dunes that are 200 km long and 100 km wide soaring up to 150 metres high. These dunes are inhabited by the nomadic Bedouin people, who have lived here for centuries, moving with their camels from waterhole to waterhole. The desert provides a great outdoor experience and is best explored in 4x4 vehicles. After the so-called ‘dune-bashing’ one can also experience the nomadic way of life with a visit to a Bedouin camp.
