Visa Requirements – Holders of UK passports do not require a visa for visits to Honduras for up to thirty days. This may be extended by a further 30 days (twice) if applying to an Immigration Office. You should have a full passport with a minimum of six months validity from the date of your return to the UK. Please also be aware that you need to have at least two blank pages in your passport.

Health Requirements – There are no mandatory vaccinations required for entry into Honduras although Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Rabies, Tetanus, Tuberculosis and Typhoid are recommended. Malaria exists in some of the low-lying parts of the country, so precautions should be taken if you are visiting these areas.

We strongly recommend that you contact your doctor or the MASTA (Medical Advisory Service for Travellers Abroad) Travellers Health Line on 0870 60 62782 or their website at www.masta.org for all professional medical advice.

Climate - a rough guide
The climate in Honduras is dictated more by altitude than by seasons.  The coastal lowlands have a hot tropical climate all year round with temperatures near 86 F. The mountainous interior has a milder climate and in December and January temperatures are around 64 F and nights are cool.  May to November is the rainy season and October and November are the months of the hurricane season when the weather can be more unpredictable and rainfall may be heavy with the risk of hurricanes passing through.

When to Go - In brief, the best time to visit Honduras is from December to May.
