The North Coast & Pico Bonito
Stretching for 300 kilometres along the beautiful azure fringes of the Caribbean, Honduras's north coast is a world away from the forested mountain ranges of the interior. The main costal towns of La Ceiba, Tela, and Trujillo offer visitors beautiful and expansive beaches, clean warm waters, restaurants and great nightlife.
Situated close to La Ceiba, Pico Bonito National Park is the largest and most important national park in Honduras and is named after the mountain whose peak dominates the scenery in this area. The park is 500 square kilometers and contains many different micro climates. It offers a high biodiversity and wonderful forests, rivers, waterfalls and abundant wildlife including jaguar, armadillo, wild pigs, tepesquintle, squirrels, monkeys tropical birds and many more. Guests to the area can enjoy bird walking, hiking, white water rafting and wildlife watching.
