Oaxaca
Oaxaca to the south of the country, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is the economic, cultural, and political centre of one of the most fascinating areas in Mexico.
With mountains almost 10,000 feet high, caverns among the deepest in the world, virgin beaches, hidden jungles, and intriguing valleys, Oaxaca's diverse topography is unrivaled. In addition, the region is host to 16 ethnic groups including the mighty Zapotecs and Mixtecs who once ruled this region of Mexico. These vibrant cultures still maintain many of their centuries old traditions and offer the traveller incredible opportunities to look back into Mexico's colourful past.
